Range Pick Up - brass has been sorted and packaged for shipping. That's it folks. It came off the range, we ran it through a roll sorter, packaged it and shipped it to you. You will have some damaged cases, you will have a few pieces of brass in a caliber that is not what you ordered and you will have nickel plated brass. You paid a KILLER price for this brass because we spent as little time as possible getting it to you. We put a little extra in there so you should get at least what you paid for in usable brass.
Height Sorted and Roll Sized - 9mm brass only at this time. The brass is taken straight off the range and sorted through a trammel and steel separator to remove debris, 22LR and steel and then table sorted to remove live ammo and aluminum cases. From there it is sorted by diameter in a roll sorter and lightly tumbled in cobb and walnut media. The brass is then height sorted in an inline sorter. Finally the brass is roll sized in a Scharch commercial roll sizer. This is the prep we do prior to processing our 9mm brass. This is the best value for the person who enjoys working their own brass.
Clean - brass has been sorted, wet tumbled, dried and packaged for shipping. We spend a little more time on getting it ready so you pay a little more. Here's why. This brass is run through a brass inspector where we hand pick out steel, aluminum, nested cases, cases of the wrong caliber and any damaged cases we see. 223 and 5.56 brass in then run through an automatic brass qualifier that rejects any cases where the case mouth does not meet dimensional requirements. Pistol cases are run through an automatic height sorter to provide another layer of quality control in order to get you the best brass for your buck. When all that is done we wet tumble and dry your brass prior to packaging and shipping.
Processed - everything done in the Clean Brass section and then...pistol brass has been decapped and sized, and additionally rifle brass is swaged, trimmed and wet tumbled after processing for a like new look. Rifle brass is spot checked with a Sheridan Cut Out Case Gage, Whidden Head Space Gage and Ballistic Tools Primer Pocket Gage to ensure quality. The brass is trimmed to +/- 0.005″ the middle of SAAMI specs to ensure reliability in all rifles.
9mm Processed Brass - everything done in the Height Sorted, Lightly Tumbled and Roll Sized and Clean Brass section and then...9mm brass is processed on a Camdex Commercial Processor and has been pressure checked for cracks, decapped and sized, checked for ringers, swaged, and wet tumbled after processing for a like new look.
Base Sized - 40 S&W is a caliber known for the "Glock Bulge" where the unsupported part of the case expands to the point where normal sizing dies will not size the brass to SAAMI specifications. When this happens the brass must be put through either a push-thru or roll sizer. At GA Brass LLC we utilize a Case Master Push-Thru sizer on our 40 S&W base sized brass to ensure that your brass will fit in any SAAMI spec chamber. We offer this as an add-on option for all of our brass - Range Pick Up, Clean and Processed - so that you can choose how you want your brass prepared.
How We Process Our Brass
Our 9mm and 223 brass is processed on Camdex Commercial processors and our 40 S&W brass is base sized with a Case Master push-thru base sizer. All of our other brass is currently processed on Dillon Super 1050s with Mark 7 Pro and Ammo Bot Auto Drives equipped with the best parts and sensors available to ensure your brass is ready to load and not go bang in the priming stations.
We utilize an Ammo Bot Auto Drive with the Primer Pocket Sensor and Flipper to separate our 45 ACP large and small primer brass. To date we have processed well over six million rounds on our machines and our customers have found the end product to exceed their expectations.
